<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system which can keep a pressure in a fuel gas feeding conduit connected to it low and can exhaust hydrogen gas in a hydrogen gas envelope via a valve device to safe outside at the time of safe operation of a safety valve. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system (4) is equipped with a gas collecting conduit (21) whose one end opens to the safe outside. A gas inlet (7), an inlet conduit (12), a shut off valve (13), an outlet conduit (14) and a gas outlet (8) are formed in this order in a housing (6) of the valve device (2). A safety valve (16) is formed in a gas escape conduit (15) which branches off the inlet conduit (12) and is connected to the gas collecting conduit (21) of the fuel cell system (4). A pressure reducing valve (18) which reduces a pressure of the taken out gas fed from the hydrogen gas envelope (1) to a prescribed pressure, is formed in the outlet conduit (14).
