<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit by which the number of components is reduced to attain downsizing, and higher driving force is obtained. <P>SOLUTION: The drive unit includes an electromechanical energy converting element 52 which is deformed by applying and removing a voltage; a supporting material 51 to which the electromechanical energy converting element 52 is connected and movement involved in the deformation is transmitted; and a mobile material 53 which is inserted into an inner peripheral portion 60 formed at the supporting material 51. A deformation speed when the electromechanical energy converting element 52 becomes a state after the deformation from a state before the deformation is different from the deformation speed when the converting element becomes the state before the deformation from the state after the deformation. When the electromechanical energy converting element 52 is deformed at a lower speed of the deformation speeds, the mobile material 53 moves together with the supporting member 51 by friction force generated between the mobile material 53 and the inner peripheral portion 60. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
