<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure discharge lamp capable of shifting to an arc discharge without switching off in starting lighting. <P>SOLUTION: This is composed of the high-pressure discharge lamp 10 into which 0.15 mg/mm<SP>3</SP>or more of mercury is sealed, and a power feeding device. It has a chopper circuit including a switching element, a smoothing circuit including at least one capacitor for smoothing which is connected to the output end of this chopper circuit, and a feedback system control circuit to drive the switching element of the chopper circuit, a series circuit of a resistor and a second switching element are connected in parallel to the switching element, and the control circuit switches on the second switching element at least in starting lighting, and switches it off after the discharge lamp has been stabilized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
