<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly safe liposome-containing magnetic resonance contrast agent which stabilizes a liposome, enhances retention stability of a paramagnetic metal complex compound contained therein, increases blood retention of the liposome and attains its efficient delivery and good targeting. <P>SOLUTION: This magnetic resonance contrast agent contains the liposome containing a water-soluble paramagnetic metal or its compound in an aqueous phase in the interior and exterior of a lipid membrane. The liposome is prepared by mixing a lipid membrane component, which composes the lipid membrane, with supercritical or subcritical carbon dioxide and is substantially free of chloro-solvents. The paramagnetic metal compound is contained at a concentration ranging from 1 mM to 1 M, calculated in terms of the paramagnetic metal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
