PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the incorrect transmission of a facsimile. SOLUTION: A document to be faxed is set first, and whether or not the transmission-inhibition function of a copy-inhibition document is effective is decided (a step S1). A normal facsimile transmission processing is carried out when the transmission inhibition function is not effective (the step S2). All pages of the document are read at a time by a scanner when the transmission inhibition function is effective (the step S3). Whether or not there is a specified copy-inhibition information at a specified place in the read document is decided (the step S4). When the copy-inhibition information is not detected, the transmission is carried out and completed (the step S5). When the copy-inhibition information is detected, the transmission is suspended while an untransmitted state is displayed (the step S6), and the transmission of the facsimile is completed.
