PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data structure that allows selecting and reproducing metadata which is desired to be reproduced preferentially, in view of the fact that there are cases where the reproduction of metadata may be limited depending on the processing capability of a reproduction device or by user designation. SOLUTION: The metadata related to moving images have a stream data structure comprising one or more access units as independently processable data units. Each of the access units includes first data that specifies validity defined with respect to the time axis of the moving images; second data including either or both of object area data describing a time-space area in the dynamic images and data specifying a display method related to the time-space area or data specifying a process to be implemented when the time-space area is designated; and third data that specifies priority for reproducing the access units when there are one or more access units on the same screen of the moving images during reproduction of the metadata.
