<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system which can reduce certainly hydrogen concentration of an exhaust gas and can improve utilization efficiency of a fuel gas. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system comprises an upstream side fuel cell stack 1 and a purge valve 3 for discharging the exhaust fuel gas from the upstream side fuel cell stack 1, and generates power only by the upstream side fuel cell stack 1 at normal operation. This fuel cell system has a downstream side fuel cell stack 2 which is connected to the downstream side of the upstream side fuel cell stack 1 and the purge valve 3 and generates power by using the exhaust fuel gas discharged by the purge valve 3, an exhaust hydrogen storing part 6 for storing the exhaust fuel gas exhausted from the downstream side fuel cell stack 2, and a hydrogen dilution fan 7 which is driven by using power generated by the downstream side fuel cell stack 2 and dilutes the exhaust fuel gas stored in the exhaust hydrogen storing part 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
