PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of the unevenness in coating weight and abrasions caused by a support roll in a bath, to prevent the warpage in the width direction of a metal band in a gas wiping part, and to prevent the generation of the defect in dross to the metal band. SOLUTION: The production method comprises: a pulling-in stage where a metal band is pulled into a molten metal bath as a plating metal, and the molten metal is stuck to the metal band; a pulling-up stage where the inside of the molten metal bath is divided into an upper region and a lower region in a state where the flowing of the molten metal is possible by a surrounding member formed so as to surround the metal band pulled into the molten metal bath, and the metal band is diverted in the upper region by a diversion roll, and is further pulled up to the outside of the molten metal bath without being contacted with the roll in the molten metal bath after the diversion; a controlling stage where the coating weight of the molten metal is controlled by a wiper for wiping the surplus molten metal stuck to the metal band; and a shape straightening stage where the shape of the metal band is straightened directly before or directly after the wiper by magnetic force in a non-contact state.
