PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging machine having four cramps for cramping four corners of a gusset bag, which is provided with a unit that opens the gusset bag highly efficiently using the cramps. SOLUTION: According to the packaging machine, two stationary cramps 12 are disposed on the periphery of a rotor 10, and two variable cramps 14 are supported freely slidably below the stationary cramps 12. Each stationary cramp 12 has a vacuum chamber 37 and a movable nail 35, and each variable cramp 14 has a vacuum chamber 55 and a movable nail 57. Four vacuum chambers 37 and 55 of the cramps 12 and 14 suck and hold both side and front/rear faces of the supplied gusset bag 16, and then the movable nails 35 and 57, which are attached to the vacuum chambers respectively, cramp four corners of the gusset bag.
