<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium which has satisfactory recording signal property by suppressing the crosstalk of a recording mark, and to provide a method for recording and reproducing and an optical recording apparatus using the optical recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: (1) In the optical recording medium, a first substrate, a first information layer provided on the first substrate and having at least a first recording layer, a second substrate, and at least a reflection layer, a second recording layer containing organic dye and a protection layer which are provided on the second substrate are laminated so that the first recording layer and the second recording layer may be positioned on the inner side through an intermediate layer. In the optical recording medium, a thermal decomposition temperature range being a DTA peak width when the organic dye used in the second recording layer is analyzed thermally is ≤45°C.
