<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoreactive layer that contains a macro-particle, a photovoltaic cell, a system, and a method related to the layer. <P>SOLUTION: This invention is related to a composition containing a macro-particle made of a first semiconductor material, and a nanoparticle made of a second semiconductor material. The macro-particle has an average size of at least about 100 nm, and the nanoparticle has an average size of at most about 50 nm.
