PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device for a vehicle capable of reducing uncomfortable feeling during ABS operation while suppressing deterioration in ABS performance, and ensuring excellent braking operation feeling. SOLUTION: The braking device for the vehicle which performs switching among a pressure increasing mode, a holding mode, and a pressure decreasing mode along prescribed control algorithm according to a slip state of wheels and which controls braking force of the wheels to suppress locking of the wheels, is provided with an ABS control means for selecting and executing the pressure increasing mode in place of the holding mode if a wheel slip is reduced even when the holding mode is selected along the prescribed control algorithm.
