PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a check valve for a fuel tank certainly opening a valve element of a negative pressure valve at reduction of pressure in the fuel tank and capable of sufficiently ensuring sealing property even if ununiformness exists in dimension of a valve seat or the like of the negative pressure valve. SOLUTION: The check valve 10 for the fuel tank is provided with a housing 20 provided with a first connection pipe part 32 and a second connection pipe part 42; and a slide valve element 50 slidably arranged in the housing 20 and urged in a direction closing a tank side opening 33 by an elastic means 60. In the slide valve element 50, a ventilation passage communicated with the first connection pipe part 32 and the second connection pipe part 42 and the valve seat 52a for opening/closing the ventilation passage are formed. An umbrella type valve 53 made of rubber or elastomer and closing the opening 52d of the valve seat 52a is mounted and when the pressure in the fuel tank is reduced, the umbrella type valve 53 is opened and the outside air flows into the fuel tank.
