#CMT# #/CMT# Use of a vegetable extract (I) obtained from genus Linum, genus Zea, genus Helianthus or the species Glycine max or Brassica napus mainly made of proteic/peptidic compounds, optionally in combination with another active agent, is claimed in the preparation of cosmetic, dermatologic and/or pharmaceutical composition, to enhance the augmentation of melanin synthesis in melanocytes of the epidermis or hair bulb and improves the natural pigmentation of the skin. #CMT#ACTIVITY : #/CMT# Dermatological. #CMT#MECHANISM OF ACTION : #/CMT# Melanogenesis stimulator. The ability of (I) to enhance the augmentation of the melanin synthesis in melanocytes of the epidermis was tested using human skin biopsies. The result showed that there was a sharp increase in the melanin synthesis and a stimulation of the whole process of melanin distribution in epidermis (after 48 hours of the treatment). #CMT#USE : #/CMT# (I) is useful to prepare the cosmetic/dermatological/pharmaceutical composition for: enhancing the augmentation of melanin synthesis in melanocytes of the epidermis or hair bulb; improving natural pigmentation of the skin; protecting skin against sun exposure and external aggression (preferably UV rays and solar radiation); artificial tanning and/or browning of the skin; improving intensity, homogeneity and/or persistence of the pigmentation of the skin and/or hair; reducing skin pigmentation disorder (preferably vitiligo); and preventing/treating the hair and/or grey/white hair (claimed). (I) is useful for protecting eyes against all types of external aggression; and preventing/controlling/halting the development of canities. (I) is useful for hair care, including shampoo, an after-shampoo lotion, treating lotion, hair cream/gel, restructuring lotion for the hair, face masks, mascara brush or comb, particularly eyelashes and eyebrows. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The artificial tanning using the vegetable extract has no secondary effects like formation of wrinkles and age spots. The plants of the genus Zea are the species of Zea mays L. (corn). The plants of the genus Helianthus are the species of Helianthus annuus Z. (sunflower). The vegetable extracts contain 30-90 wt.%, preferably 60-80 wt.% of proteic and peptidic dry matter content.
