An insert (8) of hollow square cross section is interposed between a locking rod, provided to a lift up lid, and a locking opening (6) formed within a glove compartment. Parallel ramps (9-11) are formed on each of three interior sidewalls of the insert and spaced transverse with respect to the longitudinal axis (GA) of the opening and locking rod, allowing adjustment between the rod and the opening.
