<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming detection method with which time required for detection of a patch pattern can be shortened, the time providing information which contributes to a forming condition for an image, and with which the precision can be improved, oscillation of a transfer body can be suppressed, the oscillation influencing the precision in detection and with which all patch patterns for each color can be surely formed. <P>SOLUTION: The method is for detection of information for each image when two or more images are formed after a primary transfer and a secondary transfer. When a freely attachable and detachable secondary transfer means is provided for an intermediate transfer body, by making a secondary transfer means recontact with the intermediate transfer body after an image of the last color passes through a secondary transfer position and has passed through an optical detection means, error detection can be eliminated due to oscillation or waving of the intermediate transfer body occurring at the recontact. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
