<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine starter capable of suppressing increase in manufacturing cost while allowing insertion and extraction of an ignition key in both an OFF position and a lock position. <P>SOLUTION: The engine starter is provided with a receiving means 13, a transmitting means 14, a tumbler 4c brought into a recessed state or a protruded state by insertion and extraction of an ignition key IK, a rotor 4 rotatable between the OFF position and a lock position for locking steering and between the ON position in which an engine of a vehicle can be started and the lock position, an inner member 3 including the rotor 4, an operation knob 2 coupled to the inner member 3 and a stopper member 5. While the rotor 4 is made to be independently rotatable in the inner member 3, the movement between the recessed state and protruded state of the tumbler 4c is permitted to allow insertion and extraction of the ignition key IK when in the OFF position and an ON position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
