<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent burning of a part displaying white when displaying a fixed white pattern of a small area against black for a long period, without giving the impression of poor contrast in a method of driving an electroluminescence display device. <P>SOLUTION: The electroluminescence display includes an electroluminescence display panel and an input signal processing circuit to which an image signal is inputted, and the input signal processing circuit is provided with a means 1 for detecting an average luminance of the inputted image signal and a means 2 for reducing the luminance of a fixed pattern having a high luminance to a prescribed value in a period T2 in the case that the fixed pattern is displayed on a screen having an average luminance for a period T1 or longer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
