<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball that has an improvement in carry and is very durable. <P>SOLUTION: The golf ball is made up of a core and an outer layer portion surrounding the core. The outer layer portion uses a resin composition containing a stratified silicate treated by a cation in a resin matrix and having a Shore D hardness of 56 or higher and 75 or lower.
