<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber-optic temperature sensor which accurately measures temperature even in surroundings of intense electric field and high voltage and to provide its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: Predetermined length of plastic resin of an optical fiber 1 is removed. An FBG 2 is written into a part of a core of the part. A clad surface of the optical fiber 1 of which the predetermined length of the plastic resin is removed is covered with a metal thin film 3 to form a temperature-sensitive part. The temperature-sensitive part is protected by a package made of a non-metallic material in tensionless condition. The temperature-sensitive part is filled with a gel-like material with high thermal conductivity. The fiber-optic temperature sensor allows temperature measurement even in surroundings of intense electric field and high voltage in an electric power apparatus or the like and can accurately estimate the life of such an apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
