<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine which can prevent the full extinction of the unit display segments making up the prescribed display device at once in the variable display of the identifying symbols. <P>SOLUTION: The game machine 10 has a special pattern display device 5 which is made up of a plurality of segments and displays the special symbols by lighting the segments and the main CPU 32 which carries out the variable display of the special symbols on the special pattern display device 5 when the given starting conditions are met.
