PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a blurred image from being recorded. SOLUTION: In response to the turning on of the S1 of a shutter release button, automatic focus control is exerted, so that a photographic lens is positioned in an S1 focused position (step 38). An AF evaluation value at the S1 focused position is calculated until an S2 is turned on (step 40). When the change of the AF evaluation value exceeds a predetermined value (Yes in step 41), a determination is made that a main subject has moved during a period from the turning on of the S1 to the turning on of the S2.
