PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for visually recognizing around a vehicle, which provides a video image easily viewed by a driver or the like. SOLUTION: A camera which has a fish-eye lens or the like and is capable of imaging in a wider visual field range is used in the device. For example, a video image at the rear of the vehicle is segmented from among the video images 50 imaged by the camera. A video image 60 is adjusted in the direction corresponding to the mirror image of a side mirror by rotating and inverting the video image. The rear video image 60 is provided which is intuitively and visually recognized by the driver or the like. The display of a front video image 99 and a side video image 50 is properly switched if required. When a part of the video image imaged by the camera is segmented, images 101, 103 showing the range of visual field of the segmented video image are composited and displayed on a display device 61.
