The operating element (4) is used to operate a function of the motor vehicle by pressing on the operating element. The operating element has a piezoelectric film (11) mounted on or under a flat spring-like support (10). The support contains a metal plate and plastic material and has a contact surface on the opposite side from the piezoelectric film. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle with an inventive operating element.
