Internal combustion engine has a crankcase, oil pan and a crankshaft. The oil plane (7), in oil pan forms separation between oil gathering area and crank area, and at its rear side forms several ribs (10) oriented in longitudinal and/or lateral direction of the internal combustion engine (1). The ribs plunge into the oil (11) found in the oil gathering area (6) in operating state of the engine.
