PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens constituted so that the total number of lens components is reduced to the minimum, and the image forming performance is extremely stably enhanced all over the variable power range, and the collapsed thickness is extremely reduced, and to provide an electronic imaging apparatus equipped with the zoom lens. SOLUTION: Regarding the electronic imaging apparatus provided with the zoom lens having a plurality of lens groups G1 and G2, wherein a distance between respective lens groups is made variable in varying the power or in focusing, and the lens group G1 positioned closest to the object side is constituted of two negative and positive lens components having an aspherical surfaces, and also, provided with an imaging element positioned on the image side of the zoom lens, and for processing image data obtained by imaging, and then, outputting the processed shape-changed image data, the zoom lens satisfies a condition (1) of regulating the degree of barrel distortion at a zoom wide angle end.
