A node (A21) has a packet transfer table (A2141) for setting a peer-to-peer type communication tunnel for encapsulating a data link layer packet to/from other nodes participating in the virtual LAN and transmitting the data link layer packet received from a communication tunnel to another communication tunnel. Furthermore, when another node is removed from the virtual LAN, the node (A21) reconfigures the topology of the virtual LAN by using the topology calculation unit (A2153) and establishes or deletes the communication tunnel according to the topology reconfigured by using a tunnel control unit (A2152).
