The frying of e.g. precooked meals for refrigeration or freezing has the food coated with bread crumbs and fried in oil at 180 degreesC after coating with paste. The refrigerated or frozen packaged meal is heated e.g. in a microwave oven prior to consumption. The process is also applicable to refrigerated and frozen raw foodstuffs.
