<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device for enabling a user to watch television although battery residual capacity is small, and capable of performing an operation reflecting the user's intention, when the television broadcast is being displayed or the television broadcast is going to be displayed. <P>SOLUTION: The portable terminal device 100 comprises a TV broadcast receiving unit 101 for receiving a television broadcast signal; a TV broadcast processing unit 102 for decoding the streams of the received television broadcast signal; a display converting unit 103 for converting decoded YUV signals into RGB signals per frame; a control unit 109 for controlling an operation, when the battery residual capacity of a battery 112 becomes not more than a predetermined amount during outputting images and sounds of the television broadcast, or when the battery residual capacity of the battery 112 is not more than the predetermined amount when output of the video images and sounds of the television broadcast is requested; and a power source management unit 111 for detecting the battery residual amount of the battery 112, and reporting a result of detection to the control unit 109 for every predetermined time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
