SUPPORT BASE FOR IMAGE RECORDING MATERIAL, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD AND IMAGE RECORDING MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support base for an image recording material and a method for manufacturing the support base having both of high smoothness and excellent gloss, and to provide an image recording material using the support base for an image recording material.

SOLUTION: The support base for an image recording material comprises a base paper and at least two polymer coating layers applied on at least one surface of the base paper, wherein the outermost surface of the support base for an image recording material in the polymer coating layer side shows ≤0.35 μm center face average roughness (SRa) at 5 to 6 mm cut-off length. Preferable aspects are, for example, that the melting points of polymers in at least two layers of the polymer coating layers differ from each other and that the polymer in the polymer coating layer is polyolefin resin.
