<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which an endless belt excellent in durability is used and an image is formed on a recording carrier conveyed by the endless belt. <P>SOLUTION: A transfer belt 160 used as a transfer device of a belt transfer system disposed in the image forming apparatus is constituted by bonding a first belt member 160a formed on the center of the belt 160 in the conveyance direction to two second belts 160b, 160c disposed on both sides of the width of the first belt member 160a. The first belt member 160a is constituted with a material capable of reliably sucking a sheet S in a charged state. Each of the second belt members 160b, 160c has resistance especially for ozone generated inside an image forming part and is constituted with a material more excellent in at least anti-bending cracking property and ozone resistance than the first belt member 160a.
