<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of easily imparting the amount of electrostatic charge to toner without lowering the conveying speed of a developer, suppressing overflow of the developer and forming a high quality image. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device comprises a developer carrier which has a magnetic field generation means fixedly arranged therein and carries/conveys the developer containing toner and carrier, a first agitation member disposed adjacent to the rotation shaft direction of the developer carrier, a second agitation member disposed adjacent to the rotation shaft direction of the first agitation member so as to convey the developer in the same direction as the developer conveyance direction by means of the first agitation member and the third agitation member disposed adjacent to the second agitation member so as to convey the developer in the direction opposite to the second agitation member. Therein, the total conveyance quantity of the developer by means of the second agitation member and the third agitation member is higher than the conveyance quantity on the upstream side and is approximately equal to the conveyance quantity by means of the first agitation member on the downstream side, in the developer conveyance direction by means of the third agitation member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
