<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hood structure of an automobile capable of reducing the impact force to the thighs of a pedestrian resulting from a hood lock reinforcement in the event of head-on collision. <P>SOLUTION: The hood structure of the automobile is equipped with an outer panel 11 constituting the extra-body side face of a hood, an inner panel 12 installed on the lower inside of an outer panel 1, and the hood lock reinforcement 13 installed in the front region of the internal space between the outer panel 11 and the inner panel 12 for reinforcing a lock mechanism 13a, wherein the hood lock reinforcement 13 is located a specified distance apart from the front extremity of the internal space, while an auxiliary reinforcement 14 is installed extending from the front extremity of the internal space to near the tail of the hood lock reinforcement. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
