PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor having a structure capable of being downsized while preventing generation of beating noise in a radial direction which can occur between a rotating shaft and a bearing member. SOLUTION: This compact motor 1 includes the bearing member 7 for supporting a base end 21b of the rotating shaft 21 in the radial direction and thrust direction, and a bearing retaining member 9 for retaining the bearing member 7. The bearing retaining member 9 is formed by a spring steel plate in a thin plate state, and includes a bearing retainer 9a for retaining the bearing member 7, three arms 9b helically extended from the bearing retainer 9a outward in a radial direction, and an outer periphery 9c connected to the arm sections 9b outward in the radial direction of the bearing retainer 9a.
