PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent foreign matter dropped or deposited on a casing from dropping to the end of a belt conveyance part. SOLUTION: This X-ray foreign matter detection device comprises an X-ray irradiation means 8 in the casing 1; the belt conveyance part 3 for conveying an inspection object to a prescribed conveyance direction; and an X-ray detection means 9 arranged under the belt conveyance part in the casing 1 for detecting an X-ray transmitted through the inspection object, and detects the existence of foreign matter in the inspection object. Guiding surfaces 7a, 7b for guiding foreign matter A dropped onto the casing 1 to the direction crossing the conveyance direction are formed on a projection part 7 on the end side of the casing 1 in the conveyance direction. The foreign matter dropped onto the casing 1 is guided by the guiding surfaces and dropped in the front or back direction of the casing without sliding down in the conveyance direction, to thereby prevent adhesion of the foreign matter onto a conveyed body.
