PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of building up a network for avoiding the occurrence of a loop by properly blocking a packet so that a loop packet is not endlessly circulated when a loop is detected on the network. SOLUTION: When a network apparatus such as a switching HUB or a bridge detects a loop connection on the network, each network apparatus generates a random number from a point of time when each network apparatus detects the loop, detects the loop once again after a wait by a time calculated on the basis of the random number, and blocks the packet of either of looped ports when the loop is again detected. After the interruption of the packet, since other network apparatus blocks the packet simultaneously, the packet going to be looped is monitored in order to confirm whether or not the network is separated, and if the separation of the network is decided, the packet blocking is stopped.
