PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus which can recover the rapid deterioration of communication quality in a short time, and to provide a multi-carrier communication system and a multi-carrier communication method. SOLUTION: In this multi-carrier communication system, one empty carrier (for example, subcarrier #1) is formed at training time (at data communication starting time). And, after the training is completed, data communication is started. When a strong interference signal of a narrow band is mixed during the data communication, tone swapping, for moving all bits assigned to the subcarrier (for example, subcarrier #8) in which a signal-to-noise ratio SNR rapidly drops is once moved to the empty carrier (for example, the subcarrier #1), is performed. Therefore, as compared with conventional bit swapping which distributes 1 bit at a time, the rapid deterioration of the communication quality can be recovered in a short time.
