PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inorganic electroluminescent display device and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In order to improve light extraction efficiency of this inorganic electroluminescent display device, the inorganic electroluminescent display device includes: a substrate 110; a first electrode 120 formed on the substrate 110; a first insulation layer 132 formed on the first electrode 120; a luminescent layer 142 formed on the first insulation layer 150; a second insulation layer 150 formed on the luminescent layer 142; and a second electrode 160 formed on the second insulation layer 152. The inorganic electroluminescent display device characteristically includes a diffraction grating on at least either of a first interfacial surface between the first insulation layer 132 and the luminescent layer 142 and a second interfacial surface between the second insulation layer 150 and the luminescent layer 142.
