PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a plasma display panel (PDP) of which the electric discharge starting voltage is low, cost can be reduced, display movement is made stable with high brightness, and productivity can be enhanced. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the PDP, the PDP is inputted into a heating furnace, and a washing gas introduced into a discharging space is held for a fixed time while elevating a temperature within a range T1 to T2 of a washing temperature which is lower than an exhaust gas temperature (SA1 to 6). By this, an electric discharge starting voltage is lowered, and cost is reduced. Next, the washing gas is exhausted, and the exhaust is continued for a fixed time at the exhaust gas temperature which is higher than the washing temperature (SA7 to 10). By this, because impurities in a protective film formed on a surface substrate having a scanning electrode and a maintenance electrode are reduced in number, display movement for a long period is stabilized by obtaining the high brightness PDP, and productivity is improved by shortening an aging time. Afterward, the heating furnace is stopped, an electric discharge gas is introduced if the temperature in the heating furnace reaches the level of room temperature, and a manufacturing process is finished after making an air pipe chipped off (SA11 to 14).
