PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a temperature rise in an optical pickup caused by generated heat inside a device in the optical disk drive for using a semiconductor laser provided in the optical pickup as a light source to perform recording and reproduction. SOLUTION: This optical disk drive 50 has a spindle motor 5 for rotating an optical disk. The optical pickup 7 records/reproduces information to/from the optical disk, and a guide shaft 6 guides the optical disk in the radial direction of the optical disk. The optical disk is carried by a disk tray 3. The disk tray 3, the optical pickup 7 and the like are housed in a case 1.
