PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens having high optical performance over the range of the entire variable power, and to provide an imaging device that has the zoom lens. SOLUTION: The zoom lens includes, in order from the object side to the image side, a first lens group L1 of positive refracting power, a second lens group L2 of negative refracting power, a third lens group L3 of positive refracting power, a fourth lens group L4 of negative refracting power, and a fifth lens group L5 of positive refracting power.
