PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clothes pole supporting device by which a clothes pole is positioned at a place sufficiently higher than a floor surface even when the clothes pole is hooked by an arm when the arm is housed, and by which the clothes pole hooked by the housed arm is hardly seen from outside of a building. SOLUTION: An arm holder 22 is rotatably fitted to the bracket 12 of the clothes pole supporting device 10, and the arm is put through the arm holder 22. On the back surface 14A of the arm 14, a first slide groove 32, a second slide groove 34 and a third slide groove 36 are formed to provide a wash-line pole supporting slider 42 slidably at each of the first slide groove 32, the second slide groove 34 and the third slide groove 36.
