PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound generating toy by which various kinds of information regarding an indicated country can be obtained with voice by simply indicating an optional place on a map, and can obtain information which cannot be obtained by a visual sense alone by an acoustic sense as well, and can raise the learning volition of young people. SOLUTION: This sound generating toy is constituted of a map body A on which a map as visible information a is printed, and a sound information outputting device B comprising an indicating means 1 which indicates an optional place on the map a, and a sound outputting means 2 which outputs the information regarding the place indicated by the indicating means 1 with voice. Invisible information b comprising a two-dimensional code which does not visually spoil the visible information a is printed by overlapping the invisible information b on the visible information a. The invisible information b of the place indicated by the indicating means 1 is input in the sound outputting means 2 by being read by the indicating means 1.
