PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory device for the storage of digitally formatted data. SOLUTION: The memory device includes a digital to analog converter circuit that is configured to convert digitally formatted data received from outside the memory device to analog-formatted data, and an analog to digital converter circuit coupled to the digital to analog converter circuit to convert the analog-formatted data to digitally formatted data for storage in the memory device.
