PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely dry printing liquid applied on the media to be printed. SOLUTION: A first drying part 12C includes a first, second, and third drying cylinders 21, 22, 23. The second drying cylinder 22 heats a paper S coated with an aqueous varnish N to dry the aqueous varnish N. The second drying cylinder 22 is heated by a first and second infra-red light irradiation devices 30A, 30B. When the surface temperature of the second drying cylinder 22 reaches a predetermined temperature, the printer starts printing, and the second drying cylinder heats the paper S wound around it from the opposite side to the surface coated with an aqueous vanish N.
