PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic clamping device capable of automatically gripping clamping parts temporarily assembled to a workpiece and fastening the workpiece by only setting the workpiece. SOLUTION: The automatic clamping device is equipped with a turning plate 4 turned around the turning center line X of a nut 1 temporarily assembled to the workpiece, and a pair of gripping pawls 5 which is disposed so as to oppose across the nut 1 and turnably supported around a support shaft 12. When the turning plate 4 is turned to the one side of the turning direction from a standby position to tighten the nut 1, respective gripping pawls 5 are respectively turned around the support shaft 12 in conjunction with the turning operation, and the outer peripheral surface of the nut 1 is gripped by a gripping surface 5a of the tip end. While respective gripping pawls 5 is turned and energized by a torsion spring toward the gripping position, respective pawls 5 are positioned at non-gripping position by engaging with positioning members 14, 15 when the turning plate 4 is at the standby position.
