PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decoding packetized video program information including program related text messages. SOLUTION: Packetized video program information used in video processing formats includes program related text messages. A decoder (100, 60, 30) decodes the packetized video program information including the program related text messages. The decoder (60, 30) determines a broadcast programming time segment associated with a desired program related text message and identifies program related text message data occurring in the determined broadcast programming time segment.
