PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus the case of which is easily grasped in both cases of still picture photographing and moving picture photographing. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus 100 is provided with: a front case 50 in which a circular hole 52 penetrated therethrough in the thickness direction is formed; a rear case 60 in which a swollen part 66 swollen cylindrically is installed, and the swollen part 66 is rockably inserted to the hole 52 and coupled rockably and unmovably in a forward and backward direction. The front case 50 and the rear case 60 can be rockable around the swollen part 66 between a first position wherein the width directions and the length directions of the front case 50 and the rear case 60 are matched and a second position wherein an angle between the length directions of them is 90 degrees. The swollen part 66 is provided with a lens mirror barrel 10, an imaging element 150 is provided inside a first case 62, and a display panel for displaying an image imaged by the lens mirror barrel 10 is provided to a rear side 6404 of a second case 64.
