PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of securely informing a person to be photographed of a photographing operation. SOLUTION: The imaging device includes: a sound file storage section 32a storing sound data representing a photographing operation; a loudspeaker 11 for outputting the sound data stored in the sound file storage section 32a; and a control section 32 by which the output of sound data from the loudspeaker 11 before photographing starts at least after the depression of a shutter key is controlled according to a photographing environment. The photographing environment means an environment sound such as ambient noise. By altering the output level of the sound data in accordance with the level of the environment sound, a person to be photographed can be securely informed of the photographing operation.
