PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint for an excavating pipe of soil sampling equipment, which can facilitate the connection and disassembly of a connecting pipe constituting the excavating pipe of the soil sampling equipment. SOLUTION: This joint is equipped with an engaging part 20 which is provided at one end of the connecting pipe 35, a part 21 to be engaged, which is provided at the other end of the engaging part 20, and an engagement maintaining member 22 for maintaining the state of the engagement of the engaging part 20 with the part 21. The engaging part 20 and the part 21 are engaged with each other from a direction X wherein the connecting pipes 35 and 35 to be connected to each other cross the central axes 35a of them, and the relative displacement of the engaging part 20 and the part 21 in the direction Y of the central axis of the connecting pipe is restrained. The member 22 is arranged in such a manner as to cover the engaging part 20 and the part 21 in the state of the engagement of the engaging part 20 with the part 21, so that the relative displacement of the engaging part 20 and the part 21 in the direction X can be restrained.
